Licensed Legal Intern
OCU Law Student. Licensed to Practice. Enough said.
Upon completion of at least half the ABA-required credit hours for a Juris Doctor, law students may obtain a Limited License to Practice Law in the State of Oklahoma. After being sworn in before the Oklahoma Supreme Court, they will work on actual court cases and gain invaluable hands-on experience in the courtroom. Through supervised practical training in the practice of law, trial advocacy, and professional ethics, Licensed Legal Interns develop solid, marketable skills that appeal to employers, both in-state and out-of-state.
The student may work under the supervision of an attorney in any of the following law-related settings: law firms, corporate legal departments, the legal departments of administrative agencies, the offices of prosecutors and public defenders, and the legal and policy staffs of a state legislature. The student may be compensated for such work or may perform such work as a volunteer.
