Thomas VanZant

Thomas is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Houston Christian University, where he got a BA in Political Science. At graduation, he was honored as an outstanding student and leader by receiving the President’s Award. His main service on campus was his election as the Student Body President during his junior year. He used that position to enact changes on campus and to create a social campus life coming back from COVID.

Over his time at HCU, Thomas was on the Dean’s list every year, and a member of the Honors College, the Student Foundation, and multiple campus organizations. As a senior, Thomas was inducted into the Alpha Chi Honors Society and was named an “All-National Attorney” by the American Mock Trial Association.

Throughout college, Thomas stayed majorly focused on the political realm. He has worked for three current members of Congress, in both the House and Senate. As much as he loves politics, he developed a passion for the law while an undergraduate and decided to pursue a law degree before continuing in the political world. While he considers Houston, TX to be his home, Capitol Hill has been calling his name for a long time. He hopes to use his law degree to help write bi-partisan legislation in the future.
