Taysia Stephens, 2L
I’m Taysia Stephens, originally from the Texas Panhandle but now based in El Reno, OK. I graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2011 with a degree in Anthropology and a minor in History. Before diving into law school, I gained diverse experience in management and sales, serving as a retail store manager and a branch manager in banking.
Currently, I’m in my second year at OCU Law, where I stay actively engaged with a variety of roles. I’m the 2L Class Treasurer, Treasurer for the Federalist Society, Clerk for Phi Alpha Delta, Social Media Coordinator and Human Rights Chairperson for the International Law Society, Historian for the Murrah Student Association, and Event Coordinator for the Organization for the Advancement of Women in Law. I’m also a member of the Criminal Law Association, the Federal Bar Association, and the First Gen Law Student Association. This past summer, I had the rewarding opportunity to work with the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office in the Criminal Appeals Unit, which has been an invaluable and educational experience.
What I love most about OCU Law is the strong sense of community and the wealth of opportunities available. The connections and friendships I’ve built here have made my law school journey incredibly fulfilling. For anyone considering law school, I encourage you to dive in with enthusiasm and embrace every opportunity for growth. I’m always available for advice, a chat, or a cup of coffee, and I look forward to meeting and mentoring the next generation of OCU Law alumni!
