OCU Law launches Inasmuch Center for Public Service and names inaugural director
A new center has opened to encourage law students to join the ranks of public servants. Oklahoma City University School of Law has launched the Inasmuch Center for Public Service and named Rachel Moll the inaugural director. The center will build on OCU Law’s existing reputation for having a high number of graduates who go on to work in public service roles, with generous support from the Inasmuch Foundation.
The center has three primary objectives: 1) to create programming at OCU Law around public service to enrich the overall student experience, 2) to bring an even greater emphasis to externship and career opportunities specifically in public service and 3) to develop a path forward for a summer experiential opportunity in Washington, D.C., for OCU Law students.
“The creation of the Inasmuch Center for Public Service formalizes the organic reputation OCU Law already has for producing lawyers who want to serve the public,” Dean David Holt said. “The Inasmuch Foundation’s support makes it possible for Rachel Moll to work each day to strengthen our programming and our externship and career pathways. I believe this will elevate OCU Law’s reputation in the public service space and will ultimately make OCU Law even more of a destination for students who desire to leave the world better than they found it. And ultimately, it will serve the larger community to have more lawyers finding their way into public service.”
Moll joins the staff at OCU Law from the University of Oklahoma College of Law, where she counseled students interested in public service and implemented programming to connect students to legal career paths. Before that, she consulted nonprofit organizations and government entities providing guidance on grant applications, administration and compliance. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from Oklahoma State University in 2017 and her Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2022. While in law school, Moll interned for Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma and Oklahoma Access to Justice Foundation and was an active member of the Public Interest Law Student Association. Prior to attending law school, Moll taught elementary school students in Oklahoma.

As director, I hope to inspire and equip students to pursue careers that promote general welfare, defend democratic ideals, and enhance access to justice in our communities.”
