The Amarillo Area Bar Foundation (AABF) will award scholarships each year based on availability of funds and availability of qualified applicants. Applicants must be (1) enrolled in or accepted for admittance to an ABA accredited law school, and (2) born in, raised in, or currently reside in one the 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle. The recipient must pursue at least 12 hours of course work each semester and successfully complete those 12 hours with an average of a 3.0 or above for the Fall semester before disbursement will be made to the student for the Spring semester. The scholarship recipient must agree to furnish the scholarship committee with proof of hours and grades for the Fall semester as soon as possible following the conclusion of the Fall semester to document that such requirements have been met. If the requirements have not been met, the Scholarship Committee will not disburse the one-half remaining on the scholarship for the Spring semester to the recipient, unless it determines that special circumstances warrant an exception to this policy.

The deadline for submission of applications for the AABF scholarship(s) will be October 6, 2025. For more information on eligibility and an application, visit amarillobar.org and click on the Foundation tab or call Kelsey Yarbrough at (806) 371-7226.

We maintain connections with our intern alumni network by providing continued mentorship and preparation for success in their growing legal careers, as well as encouragement of their support for our succeeding interns.

Please join us in identifying qualified legal students within Native American communities that may be interested in being part of this engaging opportunity. Applications are due Friday, October 3, by 5 p.m. PST.
