Mary Hamilton, 2L

Admissions Ambassador

My name is Mary Hamilton, and I am from Mansfield, Texas. I graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Arts in History with a pre-law focus and minors in Law and Legal Studies and Business Administration. I continued my education at UTA, earning a master’s degree in history before beginning law school at Oklahoma City University School of Law.

I chose OCU because the admissions committee knew me by name and genuinely cared about my story. That same sense of community has continued throughout my time here. My professors have been exceptional mentors and educators, and the opportunities OCU Law has provided have allowed me to appreciate the everchanging judicial system. Through Law Review, Phi Alpha Delta Honor Society, and my internship at the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals, I have gained valuable experience and a deeper understanding of the legal profession.

During law school, I developed a strong foundation in legal research and writing and learned to apply the law to complex fact patterns. My academic and practical experiences have strengthened my advocacy skills and taught me to approach legal problems with perseverance.  I am incredibly blessed to receive my legal education at OCU Law. This school has challenged me, encouraged me, and given me opportunities that have shaped the attorney I hope to become. If you are considering law school, I encourage you to visit OCU Law and experience firsthand the community, opportunities, and support that make this school so wonderful!
