FITE Film Screening: True Conviction

October 27, 2017 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

FITE (Fighting for Innocence Through Exoneration) has invited a special guest speaker Christopher Scott, who was wrongfully convicted of capital murder, to OCU Law. He will speak about his experience and then we will screen his critically acclaimed documentary, True Conviction. Film Screening will take place in Room 509.

FILM SYNOPSIS: True Conviction is a documentary about House of Renewed Hope and its work to free innocent prisoners. The film follows Christopher Scott, Johnnie Lindsey, and Steven Phillips as they investigate cases, mostly surrounding the journey that led to Isaiah Hill’s parole. The True Conviction team was honored to receive the Special Jury Mention Award for the Best Documentary Feature at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival. True Conviction also received the award for Best Documentary at the Oak Cliff Film Festival.

FITE will be selling tickets for the screening and raffle for $10.00. All proceeds will go to the Oklahoma Innocence Project and FITE for an Innocence Conference in the Spring.
