Jake Fanning graduated summa cum laude from Oklahoma State University (OSU) with a B.S. in Agribusiness with a focus in pre-law and a minor in legal studies. During his time in school, he was involved in many student organizations and maintained leadership roles. Jake served as President for his fraternity, FarmHouse Fraternity and as an OSU Student Government Association (SGA) Senator where he was chairman of the University Committee and Public Affairs Committee.
While at OSU, Jake held many jobs, including owning and operating his own cattle company, EJL Land and Cattle LLC. Through he and his siblings’ work in the Beef Industry, they created a non-profit organization called The B.E.E.F. Project where they provide food-insecure families and food pantries with high-quality beef for their dinner tables. During his senior year, Jake worked for Ellis & Ellis, PLLC in Stillwater, Oklahoma where he assisted in drafting estate planning documentation.
During his first year of Law school, Jake received the Advanced Legal Research Award and was named to the Dean’s List and Faculty Honor Roll. The summer after his first year, Jake served as a law clerk with the firm Hartzog Conger Cason in downtown Oklahoma City. During his second year of law school, Jake is serving as an Academic Fellow for Civil Procedure and Treasurer of the Federalist Society. This next summer, Jake will be returning to the firm Hartzog Conger Cason and will be serving as a law clerk for the Devon Energy Corporation.
Jake and his wife, Megan, are residents of Yukon, Oklahoma where they are members of their local church and enjoy cheering on their alma mater, the OSU Cowboys.
