GENERAL INFORMATION
Acquiring a legal education requires a substantial financial investment, which is why OCU LAW is committed to assisting students acquire scholarships, low-interest educational loans, and part-time and summer employment. For example, OCU LAW awards over one million dollars each year in scholarships, and we participate, exclusively, in the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program (DL). FINANCIAL AID PROCESS
Step 1: Submit FAFSA and review Financial Aid Fast Facts for Law Students
Beginning January 1st, using your tax returns, you should complete your FAFSA form at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The Title IV institutional code for OCU is 003166. FAFSA is required for all federal loans.
Step 2: Award Letters
After you have submitted your FAFSA, you will receive a Financial Aid Award Notification via OCU student email from the Financial Aid Office. Please review and accept your awards via Blue Link immediately — your loans will not be processed without your acceptance. If you have not received an award letter after submitting the FAFSA and any other requested documents, require assistance in acquiring student loans, or have other questions regarding the aid process, please contact the Student Financial Services Office at 405-208-5211 immediately.
Step 3: Pre-Loan Counseling
Please note: All incoming students who have accepted loans must complete pre-loan entrance counseling located here.
Step 4: Distribution of Aid
If you are receiving financial aid (scholarships or loans), your aid will be credited against your tuition costs and any excess aid will be made available (refunded) to you via direct deposit into your bank account. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form.
February 1
To receive priority consideration for OCU LAW Scholarships, your completed law school application and LSDAS report must be received by February 1st.
March 1
Financial Aid deadline.
