MSA will be hosting guest lecturer, Mikael Clayton, to speak about international counter-terrorism on November 9, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in the Murrah Center. Mr. Clayton has served as lead counsel and co-counsel on several high-profile cases regarding terrorism through the DoJ. He will also be teaching a course entitled, “Terrorism Prosecutions” next semester, spring 2017. Beverages and snacks will be provided.
Mikeal Clayton serves as Senior Counsel for The Boeing Company’s worldwide defense Aircraft Modernization and Sustainment division. In that role, Mikeal oversees the legal needs for numerous Boeing programs and businesses, including all of Boeing’s Oklahoma City and San Antonio-based operations.
Before joining Boeing, Mikeal worked with the National Security Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. There, he investigated and prosecuted complex matters involving sensitive intelligence and negotiated with foreign governments to secure mutually beneficial assistance. Prior to that, Mikeal served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Western District of Oklahoma, where he was Section Chief and Deputy Anti-Terrorism Advisory Counsel. Before joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Mikeal was with Vinson & Elkins, LLP, where he handled commercial litigation and white-collar defense matters.
Mikeal received his J.D., with honors, from the University of Texas School of Law. He served on the Texas Law Review, was a Cain Fellow, and received the Robert S. Strauss Endowment.
Mikeal has been recognized by the CIA for outstanding dedication and service to a vital mission, by the Director of the FBI for outstanding prosecution skills, and by the Director of the Secret Service. In addition, Mikeal has received the Department of Defense, Chief Prosecutor’s Award.

Immigration law attorney, author, and professor, Amir Farzaneh, will speak on the upcoming election. He will discuss each presidential candidates’ immigration platforms and their respective legal ramifications in general and in Immigration Law practice.
Amir Farzaneh is an accomplished immigration attorney with 20+ years of experience in immigration law. He is also the founder of Farzaneh Law Firm, PC, and has become an immigration law authority.

John Kluge is a graduate of OCU Law and serves in the Office of the General Counsel for National Nuclear Security Administration.
He previously served for nine years as an Attorney/Advisor in the Department of Homeland Security, and for nine years in the Army JAG Corps. He has significant experience in the areas of national security law, privacy law, military justice and criminal law, law enforcement and immigration, environmental law and emergency response and domestic support for civil authorities.

Guest Speaker: Vicki Behenna, Executive Director of the Innocence Project
Vicki Behenna, a graduate of Oklahoma City University School of Law, spent more than 25 years as a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Oklahoma. During her tenure, she tried fraud cases and was responsible for the prosecution of complex public corruption cases. Behenna was selected to participate in the Oklahoma City bombing case against Timothy McVeigh as a special attorney to then U.S. Attorney Janet Reno.
In 2015, Behenna was named Executive Director of the Oklahoma Innocence Project. Her tenacious efforts on behalf of the wrongly convicted give her unique insight into the complex issues in this field and the ability to not only manage the clinic, but also the talent and experience to serve as an advocate in court for the clinic’s clients.
