Staff Editor: Socorro Adams Dooley
Socorro Adams Dooley is the Staff Editor of the Oklahoma City University Law Review. She resides in Oklahoma City with her husband and son, and now considers herself an Oklahoma native after spending much of her childhood in Europe as a military brat. Socorro received her B.A. in Liberal Studies from the University of Oklahoma.
Socorro has been a legal assistant at Phillips Murrah in downtown Oklahoma City for 11 years, assisting practitioners involved in oil and gas law, medical malpractice defense, aviation law, and appellate work. She has gained valuable experience not only from her work as a legal assistant, but also as a virtual intern for Judge Daman Cantrell. At Oklahoma City University School of Law, she is a third-year part-time law student while working full time and has made the Dean’s List. Her Case Comment, It’s Still a Peanut Butter Cookie: A Comment on Douglas v. Cox Retirement Properties, is published at 39 Okla. City U. L. Rev. 243 (2014).
Socorro plans to practice law in Oklahoma upon graduation and licensure in 2016.
