Law Dean Search Updates

Law Dean Search Focus Groups - October 12

Dear OCU Law Community,

Next week on October 19th, the OCU School of Law community will have an opportunity to participate in focus group sessions facilitated by Jan Asnicar from Storbeck/Pimentel, the executive search firm supporting the law dean search.

These focus group sessions are an important part of the search process. The information gathered during these sessions will inform the search committee about what each stakeholder group identifies as the most important leadership qualities and priorities for our next dean.

We will host two open sessions for members of our law school community such as students, staff, alumni, trustees, and community partners.

Please join us for one of the following sessions-

Date: October 19th

Time: 10:30am

Location: OCU School of Law, Classroom 510

Date: October 19th

Time: 4:00pm

Location: OCU School of Law, Classroom 501

On behalf the Law Dean Search Committee, thank you in advance for your participation.

Best regards,

Art LeFrancois & Gary Homsey

Law Dean Search Focus Group Update - October 25

Dear OCU Law Community:

Thanks to those who participated in the recent focus groups facilitated by our executive search consultant, Jan Asnicar.  Thanks also to those who could not attend a focus group session but who completed the brief online survey we administered.  Both of these efforts will provide input that will help inform the search committee as it develops the position profile and identifies important initiatives for the next dean.

The search committee is working with Ms. Asnicar to develop the position profile and other recruitment materials that will be used to inform prospective candidates and the broader community about the position.

The search committee anticipates launching the active recruitment phase of this search no later than early December.  An OCU Law Dean Search website is being developed and will contain pertinent information about the search process, the position, and the application and nomination process. In the meantime, if you would like to nominate a candidate, please send the candidate’s name and contact information to Ms. Asnicar at j.asnicar@storbeckpimentel.com.

We will continue to update the law school community as the process advances.

Thank you,
Art LeFrancois and Gary Homsey

Law Dean Search Update - December 20

Dear OCU Law Community:

We’d like to provide you with an update on the status of the law dean search. Our executive search consultant, Ms. Jan Asnicar, has been working diligently with the search committee over the past few weeks to finalize the position profile. We’re excited to share the position profile with you today. Additionally, a website dedicated to the law dean search is now active and contains pertinent information related to the search, as well as details about the position and instructions on the application and nomination process.

The committee plans to begin a review of applicant materials in January and expects to complete preliminary interviews during the month of March.

Look for more updates on the law dean search as we continue to advance in the process.  Happy Holidays!
