Dean’s Council on Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion

The Dean has established the Dean’s Council on Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion:

to serve as a forum for ideas and innovative approaches to maintain a diverse and culturally-inclusive law school community;

  • to develop extracurricular programs advancing diversity, equality, and cultural inclusion within the law school, the legal academy, and the legal profession;
  • to provide advice and assistance in the development of the law school curriculum to address issues of diversity, equality, societal discrimination, and cultural inclusion;
  • to develop programs for faculty and administrators regarding issues of diversity, equality, and inclusion arising in legal scholarship, the teaching of law school courses, the classroom experience, and in the law school community generally;
  • to serve as a resource for students, faculty, and staff who seek to address barriers to diversity, equality, and inclusion; and
  • to assess periodically the conditions at the law school and our progress toward maintaining diversity, equality, and inclusion in the law school community.
