While much of the focus on Tuesday’s election was centered on the Presidential contest, Oklahoma voters also weighed in on six state questions. State Question 758, which limited property tax increases, passed with 68% of the vote. State Question 759, which would prohibit use of affirmative action programs by state entities (with limited exceptions), passed with 59% approval. State Question 762 proposed taking the governor out of the parole process for certain non-violent offenders, and received 59% approval. State Question 764, which authorized the Oklahoma Water Resources Board to issue bonds for the financing of a reserve fund, had the approval of 57% of the electorate. State Question 765 was a proposal to eliminate the governing commission of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. It received the approval of 60% of the voters. Finally, State Question 766, which exempted all intangible personal property from ad valorem property taxation, passed with 65% of the voters in favor. Election results will be certified on Tuesday, November 13th and filed with the Secretary of State.
