FALL 2016

  • August 6 (Saturday) Orientation for first-year law students begins.
  • August 8 (Monday) Classes begin for first-year law students.
  • August 11 (Thursday) University Adjunct Faculty Workshop.
  • August 15 (Monday) Classes begin for all other law students; Summer Term grades due at 9:00 am in Law Registrar’s Office.
  • August 16 (Tuesday) New Faculty Orientation I.
  • August 17 (Wednesday)  University Matriculation and University Faculty Meeting (for full-time faculty not in class) (university open).
  • August 18 (Thursday) New Faculty Orientation II.
  • August 26 (Friday) No adds or drops after 5:00 pm today; last day to receive tuition refund.
  • September 5 (Monday) Labor Day; no classes; university closed.
  • September 30 (Friday) Final day to withdraw from a course without the professor’s consent.
  • October 11 (Tuesday) Yom Kippur holy day; no classes after 5:30 pm.
  • October 12 (Wednesday) Yom Kippur holy day; no classes before 5:30 pm.
  • October 17-18 (Monday, Tuesday) Classes meet; law school does NOT observe university’s Fall Break.
  • November 1 ( Monday) Recommended deadline to apply for financial aid for spring semester.
  • November 21 ( Monday) Last day of class for courses not affected by the Yom Kippur holy day.
  • November 22 (Tuesday) Final Day of Instruction:  Daytime: today is treated as a Wednesday until 5:30 pm;   Evening: today is treated as a Tuesday beginning at 5:30 pm.
  • November 23-25 (Wednesday-Friday) Thanksgiving Break: no classes; university will be open on November 23 only.
  • November 28December 2 (Monday to Friday) Reading period for final exams.
  • December 5-16 (Monday to Friday) Final Exams
  • December 22-January 2, 2017 (Tuesday to Monday) Christmas Break; university closed.

SPRING 2017

  • January 9 (Monday) Classes begin for all law students. Fall semester grades due by 9:00 am in Law Registrar’s Office.
  • January 16 (Monday) Martin Luther King Jr. Day: no classes; university closed.
  • January 20 (Friday) No Adds or Drops after 5 pm today; final day to receive tuition refund.
  • February 24 (Friday) Final day to withdraw from a course without the professor’s consent.
  • February 27 (Monday) Recommended deadline to apply for financial aid for summer term and fall semester.
  • March 13 – 17 (Monday – Friday) Spring Break; no classes (university open).
  • April 14 (Friday) Good Friday; no classes after 12:00 noon; university closes at noon.
  • April 19 (Wednesday) Last day of classes for courses that meet only on Wednesday.
  • April 20 (Thursday) Last day of class for courses that meet on T, Th; only T; or only Th.
  • April 24 (Monday) Last day of class for all courses not affected by the Good Friday holy day.
  • April 25 (Tuesday) Final Day of Instruction.  Today is treated as a Friday and is the last day of class for courses that meet on Friday afternoon.
  • April 26 – 28 (Wednesday – Friday) Reading period for final exams.
  • May 1 – 12 (Monday – Friday) Final Exams.
  • May 12 (Friday) Awards Ceremony.
  • May 14 ( Sunday) Graduation.

SUMMER 2017

  • May 22 (Monday) Classes begin.
  • May 29 (Monday) Memorial Day; no classes; university closed.
  • June 1 (Thursday) No Adds or Drops after 5 pm; final day to receive tuition refund.
  • June 8 (Thursday) Final day to withdraw from a course without the professor’s consent.
  • June 12 (Monday) Spring semester grades due at 9:00 am in the Law Registrar’s Office.
  • July 4 (Tuesday) Independence Day: no classes (university closed).
  • July 10 (Wednesday) Last day of class for courses that meet M,W.
  • July 11 (Tuesday) Final Day of Instruction. Last day of class for courses that meet either T, Th or M, T, W, Th.
  • July 12 – 14 (Wednesday to Friday) Reading period for final exams.
  • July 17 – 20 (Monday – Thursday) Final Exams.
  • August 14 (Monday) Summer Term grades due at 9:00 am in the Law Registrar’s Office.

FALL 2017

  • August 5 (Saturday) Orientation for first-year law students begins

  • November 27-December 1 (Monday to Friday) Reading period for final exams
  • December 4 – 15 ( Monday to Friday) Final Exams.
