OCU Law is Excited to Announce CAPITAL CITY CONNECT!

Capital City Connect is built for our upper-class law students as a way to connect you with members of the practicing bar before graduation – providing you with networking opportunities, mentorship, career development and professional training.

Our location right in the middle of Oklahoma’s capital city makes us uniquely situated to provide you with the resources and contacts you need to get your career started. And there is no better time to start than right now!

Have questions? Let us answer them!

Who can participate?

This program is for 2L, 3L and 4L students who are strongly interested in a specific practice area or are actively seeking a certificate in a particular area.

How does it work?
Several programs and events will be held throughout the year. These programs will bring together practitioners in a specific area with the students focusing in that area.
What is the purpose of these events?

This program is all about building relationships! By bringing together students with practitioners before graduation, this program will provide students an early opportunity to learn about various legal practices. The program will also give students access to potential mentors and a window into their preferred practice area. By becoming familiar with practitioners in your area of interest, and knowledgeable about the work they are doing, you will be in a better position to find a job. And not just any job, but one that is the right fit for you.

When do the events take place?

There will be 6 events per year, taking place monthly during the academic year. You are encourages to attend each event that pertains to your area of interest(s). Notification will be sent out in advance and faculty members will act as liaisons to make sure interested students are aware of upcoming events.

What will happen at these events?

The events will each be different and will take on their own personalities. Potential formats could include luncheons, networking receptions, and roundtable or panel discussions.

Who should I contact with questions?
Contact Professor Lee Peoples at (405) 208-6030 or with questions.
